Vadim Maltsev Is The Creator Of This Russian Renaissance Project – Since 2010, the interior designer has been making history in the interior design world! Vadim introduces innovative creations with his own personal twist… Whether it’s a modern and sometimes radical perspective, all of his designs have some history behind them!
As you know, all of the interior design projects that we introduced to you so far are part of the Covet International Awards contestants list… This one belongs to a Russian interior designer called Vadim Maltsev and it’s a 3D-visualization of his Russian Renaissance project! Let’s take a look!
But first, we need to know the mastermind behind this glamorous interior design project… Vadim Maltsev is an ideological designer-inspirer and art director that graduated from Parsons School New York. His own brand called VADIM MALTSEV DESIGN & DECOR | FURNITURE offers multiple services such as interior design for apartments, villas, yachts, restaurants, hotels, as well as designing custom luxury furniture and architecture for private residences.

His project called Russian Renaissance is a modern interpretation of whole epoch and millennium of Russia. As you know, a part of Ancient Russia culture relied on faith and religion, philosophy can be represented in the interior design world: the icons; arched vaults as a characteristic element of the Byzantine church style, are used in the project as separate art objects expressing Russian Orthodox aesthetics.
The classic architecture of Christian cathedrals inspired Vadim to create the curbstone made of ceramic tiles, the forms are associated with the aesthetics of Russian architecture. For this iconic interior design project, the interior designer search for inspiration in many museums, ballet, books and films about Russia: it’s folk traditions and habits.

The 124,6 sqm apartment features a luxurious color scheme! The choice of the colors was quite simple since Vadim had a straight idea of what he wanted… White is the color of rebirth, and red, ocher and blue are characteristic of icon painting from Ancient Russia.
All of the furniture designs were chosen craft according to the Russian Renaissance term. Modern Russia doesn’t have a defined interior design concept yet… This project was Vadim‘s first attend to create “modern Russian interior” that was aesthetically pleasing, multifaceted, and relying on historical and cultural aspects. Craftsmanship was the key concept of the entire project!
